It was both exciting and at times overwhelming to see yet another new variety with a stunning habit, color or unique feature. Videos Published by Breeders, Commentators and Organizations Abound
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then most would suggest video reviews of Spring Trials might offer millions. And indeed, the efficiency, visual clarity and scope are enhanced and broadened. Videos of Spring Trials are now commonplace -- channels such as YouTube in combination with Social Media sites have made it simple to upload a video from anywhere. Numerous Online Reviews of Spring Trials 2016
In the not too distant past, Spring Trials (then Pack Trials) was covered by industry magazines, typically up to three months after the event, in May, June or July. In 1995, we saw the first semi-live coverage of The Short Course, but it has taken twenty years for it to hit the mainstream of the Floriculture trade. The scramble to "be the first" on the Internet seemed novel to many at this year's event. Perhaps the advent of Twitter, YouTube, FaceBook and other social media outlets are to blame. Rainy days a mixed blessing
Well, the adventure is underway. Clouds and rain at GreenFuse, Ball and Grolink. Seems clearer as we approach Lompoc after a full day. Several new series at GreenFuse including Grandstand Salvia, Momento™ Nemesia and Marineland™ Lobularia. Too many new introductions @ Ball to mention here and to many displays @ Grolink to cover here, though the PlantHaven Water Saving display was fodder for some fun..... »»

Syngenta today announced that ChemChina has offered to acquire the company at US$ 465 per ordinary share plus a special dividend of CHF 5 to be paid conditional upon and prior to closing. The offer is equivalent to a Swiss franc value of CHF 480 per share1. Syngenta shareholders will in addition receive the proposed ordinary dividend of CHF 11 in May 2016. Thompson & Morgan is creating quite a stir with their latest grafted creation, which they’ve named “Egg & Chips,” after a favorite English dish of fried eggs and French fries.
